Amano created this chocolate exclusively with beans from the Ocumare Valley in Venezeula. The beans from Ocumare create a chocolate that is rich and chocolately but is also complex in flavor with hints of red fruit such as plum.
On the central coast of Venezuela is a remote valley known as Ocumare de la Costa. Once almost totally inaccessible, the Ocumare region has been known for its superior criollo cacao since at least the early 1700's.
